I threw a lot of food out this week. But I'll start with dinner.
Dinner:
Leftover smorgasbord
Seth ate leftover chicken nuggets and mac-n-cheese with broccoli. Mom and I ate tacos and a pear with blue cheese. Ed ate chicken nuggets, leftover crabs from Saturday night, croissant sandwiches, and potato salad. William, unfortunately, has some kind of bug. He was feeling bad all day and threw up right before dinner. So he did not eat.
Now for this week's waste:

Now for this week's waste:
Wagon wheel pasta
Stale chips
Stale crackers
Moldy pepperoni
Stale popcorn
I'm afraid that this week will not be much better. We have a big container of potato salad that I doubt Ed and I will eat. I'm not crazy about potato salad. We have a lot of fruit salad left, which I love, but it may get too mushy before we finish it. I might bring that to work and offer it to my co-workers. We made two boxes of macaroni and cheese for the kids at the party on Saturday, and we have a ton of that leftover, which I doubt we'll be able to finish. We have a bunch of croissant sandwiches left, but I should be able to eat those this week for lunch.
We did manage to finish up the taco meat from last week, and Ed ate the leftover chicken nuggets that we made for the kids on Saturday. I have some tortillas that need to be eaten, so I'm planning on quesadillas one night this week. Mom and I ate a pear that was on the verge of being too ripe and was almost forgotten in the produce drawer. So baby steps, I guess.
My final "frugal" triumph for the week is that I saved $7.00 at the grocery store using coupons. That's a pretty big haul for one day! Baby steps.

Just a thought but could you freeze the strawberries for smoothies or for jam later. I have a great freezer jam recipie I can pass on.
Either way you got me thinking this past week how much money we have wasted lately eating out so last Friday night we had a clean out the fridge "do your own thing" night. Sucess and Bill didn't complain that Pizza wasn't on the menu!
I was thinking that I'd fish out the strawberries and blueberries and freeze them and use them in smoothies. The rest of the fruit consists of watermelon, cantaloupe, and grapes, which I can probably eat up in two or three days. Glad I have you thinking! Ed is really good about not complaining when I have "leftover" nights, too. But he usually makes eggs or tuna fish, rather than actually eat the leftovers. Oh well--I just try to make things that won't have leftovers that I know we won't eat.
