William and I got our H1N1 shots today. It was William's booster, so he's fully covered now. Because Seth is sick and I'm not sure if it's just a cold or something more, I decided to leave him home. The vaccine is available through our pharmacy now, so getting one for Seth should be no problem. Anyway, this morning, I told William what we were going to do, which Ed said was a dumb thing to do. William immediately got upset and didn't want to go. The anticipation built up. I told William I was getting one, too, and that I would go first. He was fine getting in the car and waiting at the CVS, although he did say repeatedly that he did not want a shot. When we got into the office, he held my hand while I got my shot. And then it was his turn. He freaked. Made a break for the door, screamed, cried, twisted and turned and kicked. The doctor was awesome and administered the shot so quickly that William didn't even realize he had gotten the shot. He was making such a huge fuss that he didn't even feel it! As soon as it was done he stood up and started babbling something about laughing. You could tell the adrenalin was subsiding, and he was trying to catch his breath. But then he said, "Yeah, I freaked out a little." The doctor thought he was hilarious. That's my guy! Here are our matching band aids:
Dinner:
Chicken breast cutlets breaded in panko and fried, green beans, Stove Top stuffing
This was a great dinner, and something I could do on a weeknight if I bread the cutlets ahead of time and put them in the fridge. Seth ate green beans and several bites of chicken. He also liked the stuffing. Although William did not eat a single bite when we sat down to eat at 6:00 p.m., he came back after his bath at 7:00 p.m. and cleaned his plate. He ate a brownie for dessert. It's nice having that time cushion on the weekends.
