Day 36: Long Lost Friends
It's been about 8 years since I owned a broom and dustpan. I know--8 years! How can that be? When I moved in with Ed, we lived in a condo with a tiny kitchen, and there wasn't a place for a broom. So I got used to using the floor attachment for the vacuum. Then we got a Swiffer floor vacuum when we moved into our last house, and that worked well on the hardwood floors. I still didn't have a good place for it though, and it had to be charged, so we kept it in the powder room. Now that we're in the townhouse, we've been using the vacuum again (the Swiffer died on us), but it's too loud to use at night. So FINALLY, I bought a broom and dustpan today. Wow--this may change my whole approach to cleaning! I had forgotten how awesome a broom and dustpan can be. It's the simple things, you know?
Dinner:
Spinach and cheese tortellini with pasta sauce, salad
William no longer likes tortellini. He ate a few bites tonight, at first with pasta sauce, and then later, plain. But he told me before bed that he really doesn't like that pasta anymore. Bummer. Seth ate a few bites, which seems to be par for the course with him lately. I served their dinner at 6:10, but William didn't eat until 6:30, and then he came back down at 7:30, but didn't eat much more. Neither one of them ate salad (surprise, surprise).

The broom gives me a sense of satisfaction. It goes more places, it's light, and quiet--like you said. :) I hope that Dyson is still getting it done for you too.
