Ed and I watched this movie tonight. I haven't seen it in a very long time, but we couldn't have picked a better time to watch it. It's cheesy, and the '80s outfits/hairstyles are a trip. But it's so good, and so funny, and so true. I think I'd have to put this on my top ten movies list for sure. At least at this time in my life!
Dinner:
Turkey meatballs, wagon wheel pasta, and broccoli
This is what the boys ate. Ed and I had Boardwalk burgers and fries (after the boys went to bed) that he picked up on his way home from work. The boys and I didn't get home until 6:50 p.m. We left daycare at 5:36 p.m. Fortunately, though, the ride home was not too terrible. I remembered halfway through the commute that I had some books in the car, including Richard Scary's Best Word Book Ever. William handed my iPhone to Seth and "read" the book the rest of the way home. The only problem was he kept asking me questions about the millions of pictures in the book. "What's this Mommy? What's this?" Kind of hard to keep looking over my shoulder to explain things to him while trying to navigate bumper-to-bumper traffic on the HOV lanes. But we managed.
Anyway, back to dinner. They didn't eat until 7:15, but they both ate everything. The meatballs were Foster Farms frozen. I put olive oil and Parmesan cheese on the pasta. The broccoli was nuked, with a little bit of butter. As for picking something up on the way home--there are no drive-through places on the way home. None. It's really weird. We live in some kind of no-man zone for fast-food restaurants. To get to one, we'd have to go way out of our way, so it's not worth it. But we do pass by a Chilis on the way home, and MJs comment got me thinking that I could call ahead to them and do curbside service. More expensive than Micky D's, but way healthier (depending what we get). Thanks for the idea!
(This post really should have been on Working It Out, but I'm back to blurring the lines between the two blogs. Oh well!)
