Day 85: Relapse

I got a call from daycare around 3:00 p.m. Seth had a fever of 101. This might account for why he's been sleeping so horribly lately. I picked the boys up and tried to get a doctor's appt., but I have to settle for Wednesday morning. In the meantime, we came home. Seth was in a good mood, but he just wanted me to hold him no matter what. At 5:30, we sat in the chair in his room and read books. I asked him if he wanted to rock-rock, and he said he wanted to lie down in the chair.

Meanwhile, William needed me to help him do something. Seth stayed in the chair. When I went back, I found this.

I'm bummed that the picture turned out blurry, but I was trying not to wake him, so I took the picture quickly and then got William to go downstairs with me. Seth slept until 7:00 p.m., but when he woke up, his fever was 104.6. Yikes! I gave him Motrin, and that brought his fever down very quickly. He even ate some clementines and a few bites of the pasta dinner. Poor Seth!

Dinner:
Beef, cheese, and noodle bake with clementines
This was a dinner I had pulled from the freezer. William ate all of it, but not because it was particularly good. He just wanted an ice cream sundae, plus I hand-fed a lot of it to him. (Does anyone else still do this with their 4 year old from time to time?) Seth ate a few bites, despite being sick. Ed came home from sick and it appears that his stomach bug is still lingering, based on the sounds I heard coming from our bathroom. (He is NOT a quiet puker!) So either I'll be eating a lot of leftover beef, cheese, and noodle bake. Or I'll be throwing it away. I'm just praying that William and I can continue to avoid whatever it is that seems to be bouncing around our house.

Yes, we still spoon or fork-feed Kaitlyn from time to time when she's really not cooperating. You're not alone!!

Did you ever get Seth's ears checked though? Still wondering if there's an underlying infection causing all this.

Oh no. Get well, Seth & Ed.

Teresa--we're going this morning, specifically to check his ears. He seemed okay after his last cold, and then I forgot about it and didn't make the connection with the horrible sleeping. But I will not be the least bit surprised if you're right!
